Grant Program and Eligibility Guidelines

The Blues Angel Music Foundation believes in the power of music and its ability to change lives. We also believe in Pensacola and the potential of her people. We are proud to support nonprofit organizations in the area that are dedicated to promoting music education and therapy to people of all ages.

Overview

  • Funding for the Blues Angel Music Foundation’s grant program is provided by:
    • Blues Angel Music, Pensacola’s #1 music store
    • Sales of refreshments, shirts, souvenir cups, raffle tickets, etc. during the Blues on the Bay concert series
    • Support from people who share a love of music and Pensacola
  • Grants range from $200 to $2,000
  • 100% of all money donated to the Foundation is disbursed in the form of grants
  • The 2016 grant cycle begins on December 18, 2015
  • All grant applications must be submitted on or before November 1, 2016 (See application and eligibility guidelines below)
  • Funds will be disbursed to grantee organizations in December of 2016

2016 Blues Angel Music Foundation Grant Program Eligibility Checklist

In order to qualify for a grant from the Blues Angel Music Foundation, your organization must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, government entity, or educational institution
  • Serve the greater Pensacola area (Escambia and western Santa Rosa counties in Florida)
  • Provide a service relating to music, music education, or music therapy

We will not award grants to:

  • Individuals
  • For-profit corporations or businesses
  • National nonprofits serving the same purpose and population as local charities
  • Political organizations
  • Athletic teams
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation
  • Gigging bands
  • Festivals
  • Organizations that intend to use the money for:
  • Capital campaigns
  • Building projects
  • Loans or investments
  • Fund raising
  • Deficit funding
  • Development of media including books, videos, CD’s, or websites
  • Parties, hoedowns, shindigs, parades, or other festivities

Beginning the Application Process

If your group or organization meets all of the guidelines above, email the Foundation with the following information. We will request additional information from organizations we feel will benefit the most from a Blues Angel Music Foundation grant.

  • Name of organization
  • Address of organization
  • Telephone number of organization
  • Website address of organization
  • Organization tax ID number
  • A 200 – 300 word summary of the organization’s purpose, mission, vision, amount requested, and outline of how all of the requested money will be spent and whom will benefit from the grant.
