Description
This stunning 100% original 1960 Fender Jazzmaster is in very good cosmetic shape with noticeable, but normal wear one would expect with a vintage guitar and is in excellent playing condition! Its one and only owner, a longtime resident of Lubbock, TX recently passed on and his wife informed us that her late husband played at least a couple of times with the Crickets!
The guitar was completely disassembled and painstakingly cleaned by our luthiers. During this process, they were able to verify the authenticity of each and every part. Even the pieces of tape holding the wires to the pickguard are original! The tape’s tackiness diminished over the years, so fresh adhesive was carefully applied. No stone went unturned in bringing this beautiful instrument back to its former glory!
Pickups are strong and very well balanced! Neck is straight and truss rod works perfectly! Volume and tone pots on upper half of the guitar are fully functional, but because of pickguard shrinkage, there’s some stiffness when turning them. This shrinkage also prohibited our luthiers from from being able to get the lower pickup 3-way switch washer on, though it’s included with the guitar. No breaks or cracks in the pickguard!
The body is in great structural shape with no cracks, breaks or repairs! Normal play wear can be seen on the fretboard. Frets are in overall good shape, but a refret would make this beauty play like a dream!

Original hardshell case is 100% functional, though left latch no longer springs forward when opening. The lining along the front edge of the case was starting to detach, so it was hot glued to arrest the separation. Leather pull tab has detached from the accessories compartment, but is included.
