Description
This beautiful 1968 Gibson Hummingbird Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar shows noticeable, but normal cosmetic wear one would expect with a nearly 60-year-old instrument and is in excellent playing condition! The usual scratches and dings along with very attractive finish checking can be seen throughout, but these imperfections are cosmetic in nature only and do not affect the guitar’s functionality in any way. The guitar was thoroughly inspected by our luthiers structurally and deemed it very structurally sound with no cracks or loose braces! Neck is straight as an arrow and truss rod works perfectly. The first four frets show moderate to heavy wear, while the remaining frets show little to none. The action measures 4.5 to 5/64″ at the 12th fret (bass side) and 3.5 to 4/64″ at the 12th fret (treble side). Very comfortable with easy playability!
A compensated bone saddle was professionally hand crafted by our very own luthier extraordinaire, Aidan Berry and a brand new set of Waverly bone bridge pins were installed. The original adjustable rosewood bridge saddle is included along with the aftermarket black bridge pins that were in the bridge when the guitar came to us. In otherwise all original condition!
Original hardshell case shows normal cosmetic wear and is 100% functional!
