Description
This beautiful 1975 Martin D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar shows noticeable, but normal wear one would expect with a vintage instrument and is in excellent playing condition! Scratches, pressure dimples and dings are present along with some discoloration/chipping of the body binding. Minor age-related shrinking of the pickguard can also be seen. These imperfections are cosmetic in nature only and do not affect the functionality of the instrument. Very structurally sound! Neck is straight with slight fall away from the 14th fret to the sound hole.. One of our master luthiers just performed a full stainless steel refret and handcrafted/installed a new bone nut and saddle. The workmanship is incredible and in our opinion, is even better than what one would find on a brand new stock guitar. The action measures 5/64″ @ the 12 fret (bass side) and 4/64″ @ the 12th fret (treble side), though saddle has plenty of room to come down if even lower action is preferred. A few minor indentations can be felt on the back of the neck. It plays like a dream and sounds fantastic with its well balanced, room filling volume. Loud and proud! Comes in its original hardshell case.
This guitar was at one time converted to an acoustic-electric, but the pickup system has since been removed. The hole at the lower bout where the end pin jack used to be is approximately 18mm in diameter. Our luthiers left the hole open so that another jack could be easily installed if desired.
