Description
The sophisticated sounds of jazz are easy to achieve in this solo written in the key of G mixolydian and 4/4 meter. In A-B-A form, it features an ostinato bass line in the A section with repeated melodic and rhythmic patterns in the melody. In the B section, the left hand accompaniment uses broken 7th chords and a walking bass line. Throughout the piece, the right hand is peppered with a generous amount of grace notes, lending an improvisatory style to the melody. Students will sound as if they really can improvise when they play this solo!
