Description
This gorgeous Vintage 1964 Gibson SG Special has gently owned and is in excellent condition with minimal wear! The guitar, which had been stripped of most of its hardware, was purchased as is by the previous owner in the early ’90s. In 2007, it was sent to the Gibson factory for a complete refinish. The original (professionally rewound) pickups are still present, but all other components are replacement, but period correct parts.
A TonePros bridge was installed, replacing the missing original vibrato tailpiece. The mounting screw holes were also professionally filled by Gibson before the refinish was performed and can be detected under close inspection. New pickup covers, wiring harness, switch tip, toggle switch ring, control knobs, truss rod cover and Gibson Deluxe tuning machines have all been installed. Original pickup covers, wiring harness, switch tip, toggle switch ring and truss rod cover are still included for the purists! Strap Lock buttons have been installed, thought the Strap Locks themselves are absent. Meticulously brought back to its former glory and absolutely ready to rock!
Neck is straight as an arrow and truss rod works perfectly. Frets are in excellent shape with no wear. Looks, plays and sounds fantastic!
Vintage Gibson hardshell case is in very good cosmetic shape with normal wear and is 100% functional.
