Gibson Chet Atkins SST 2001 – Ebony
This is a used instrument, made in Nashville, TN, that’s seen some genuine playtime. It shows moderate wear, including a sanded neck and a hand-drawn cross at the neck joint (see photos). The neck is straight, the electronics function exactly as they should, and it plays and sounds great. If you’re into guitars with real character, this one’s loaded with authentic mojo.
‘In 1987 Gibson also introduced the Gibson Chet Atkins SST; a steel string solid body acoustic electric guitar, with a single cutaway, transducer pick up, active bass and treble controls.
The Gibson Chet Atkins SST featured a simulated soundhole and a plain headstock with no logo until 1993, when the soundhole was removed and the headstock took a more modern look with a star logo. The SST uses a chambered body with a Balsa center block and a bridge transducer with onboard electronics.
